Albion remembers Norma Winn - respect paid across the Manchester League
1 March 2009
Wilmslow Albion is sad to report the sudden death this week of Norma Winn.
Norma has been connected with Wilmslow Albion for some 17 years. Her husband Malcolm was involved with the club for 10 years where he was 1st Team Manager, General Manager and Chairman before his death in 2002.
After Malcolm died, Norma held the post of Club Secretary for a number of years before she became secretary for Wilmslow Albion to the Manchester League and Geoff Thornton took over as General Club Secretary.
Norma did a marvellous job for the club and will be sadly missed. The Albion 1st Team and Reserve Team held a minute's silence for Norma at their respective games last Saturday and wore black armbands as a mark of respect. Norma's long service and contribution to the game was also remembered through a minute's silence at more than 40 games across the Manchester League.
Norma's funeral will be held at St. Matthews Church, Chester Road, Stretford, M32 8HF at 11.15am on Thursday 5th March. Family flowers only and any enquiries to Beverley Winn on 0161 865 3970 or 0758 989014.
