Albion come from 1 down to dominate and win 3-1 in local derby! - Albion under 13s come through some bad luck to beat Wilmslow Town

14 March 2010

Match report for Wilmslow Albion Under 13s 1 - 3 away win against Wilmslow Albion U13 (B) (14/03/2010)

Albion under 13's have not been getting the luck that their perfomances have deserved over the past few games... and a local derby v Town was maybe what they needed to change this!

Albion donning a new 3-5-2 formation were up for the game from the start.. Playing against the wind 1st half the lads played a different game than the free flowing passing style we are used to. Town used the wind to their advantage playing some long balls over the top.. Albion realised this and started getting in and around the Town midfield players with huge success..

After a bit of a scrappy/cramped start to the game Town won a corner which was whipped in from the right.. which was missed by Harry, and the Town striker scored a brilliant volley into the roof of the net.. 1-0 Town..

The new look Albion now know how to get them selves back into games and that is certainly what we did.. Great passing play between Matt Richardson, Curt Hartley ending up forcing a corner.. which Richardson played in a fantastic ball into the middle with Jack Stevens getting up well and just heading wide..

1-0 Half Time...

After a positive team talk from the managment team... the boys came out with a point to prove and boy did they.... Straight from the kick off Joe Mooney won the ball and broke forward slipping a great ball into the feet of Richardson who moved the ball off to Matt Robertson who laid a lovely 1st time ball off to Hartley who played Robertson back in but the ball was cleared.. brilliant start from the boys... We never slowed down after this.. some fantastic one-two touch play through the midfield and forwards Town could not get to grips with the 5 man midfield... Lewis Crocker really came into his own in this half playing much wider and being found time and time again by Hartley and Richardson and with some mazzy runs the Town Left Back could not contain him winning plenty of corners off which Albion were close to drawing level with a Beautiful ball from Richardson headed just wide by Robertson... Albion dominating the game so far...

Town during the half were snuffed out by some brilliant whole harted defending mainly by man of the match Zak Stott... Albion again splitting through the Town midfield with some quick fluent play earned a very deserved equlisier when richardson picked the ball up on the right with a lovely peice of skill beat the Town midfielder and hit a beautiful curling shot away from the diving keeper who tipped into his net.. 1-1

Town again could not get into the game, being restricted to long shots that Ben Jupp claimed with ease... Albion drove on again winning a free kick that Hartley Curled just over.. Albion took the lead after 20 mins when again lovely play between Richardson and Hartley with the latter playing an exquisit through ball to Crocker who played a pin point Beckham like cross on to the head of Robertson who finished a difficult opportunity.. 2-1

with 5 minutes to play albion scored a 3 and all at the game today admit the Albion deserved the 3rd... when the ball ran through to Stevens who turned expertly away from the Town defender and with his left foot shot low away from the Keeper.. 3-1

What a fantastic perfromance from all the boys!! a vital win.. and even bigger game next sunday! lets hope we can keep up the perfomance and get another good result...

MOM: Zak Stott... Tremendous today.. gave 100% put his head in where it hurts some vital tackles and clareance's.. topped off by his determination to get back and block a Town shot when through on goal.
