Last season the reserves finished 9th. Never having the same 11 available was a big factor. Over 35 players were used during the season! When the players were available they showed that we could compete by beating the league winners. Looking ahead, this season is the best prepared the team have ever been.
A full pre-season training programme is shortly to be followed by 3 friendlies. The players are looking much fitter and a committed squad of 18 have been together now for from day one. The players look much sharper and there is competition in every position. Technical improvements that started to develop in the 2nd half of last season are evident.
The squad have become a very tight group with great team spirit.The manager is unfortunately off to America but is handing over the rains to a new managerial partnership. They have a great foundation to build on and bring with them FA qualifications and experience that the team have enjoyed the benefit of for the last 6 months.
Big things are expected this season. A top 3 finish and promotion has to be the aim.
Half way through the campaign, we have still not had a team picture. Here is the nearest we have from the Christmas Do at Belle Vue. Unfortunately the three glamour girls are not eligible to play in the league. Pictures of squad members not present where available. Hopefully before the end of the season, we will have a proper shot!
